It’s been a while, my friends. Today I’m sharing the looks my boys will be wearing for our Christmas family lifestyle photo session with Melissa Oholendt on Sunday. Our session will be filled with all kinds of Christmas cheer… gifts, games, reading, playing, Christmas trees, our fireplace, snuggles, love and we can’t forget, hot cocoa!
We are all about little boy fashion here, but sometimes being practical wins. We have a little family mini session coming up in a couple of weeks. I wanted the boys to be very cozy and casual. I also wanted to have them wear things we already own.
Our big boy has started having very strong opinions about what he wears so I’m not comfortable spending money on new clothes that he likely would refuse to wear that day and probably ever. I’ve put together our very first Big Brother Little Brother style using clothes we have or ones we have that are very similar.
Little Brother already owns everything in the photo above so it was easy to put this together. The chambray shirt has a soft cotton lining on the inside and pairs well with so many things in Little Brother’s wardrobe. The booties are soft, warm and have velcro on the back making them very functional. That wolf shirt… I just love it! It’s on uber clearance right now too. I picked up the striped leggings at my local Whole Foods store, but they are available on Amazon as well.
Style: Fall casual
Seasons: Fall, Winter, Spring
Colors: Navy, Chambray, Denim, Grey, Mint, Blue, Stripes, Brown
Our little big boy goes back to preschool next week. I’ve learned my lesson when it comes to preschool clothes for our little boy. Since he goes to Montessori school, he goes to the restroom on his own. Pants have to include elastic waistbands. He also puts on his own shoes. Shoes must be velcro and easy for him. And he is choosing his own clothes all the time now. This is such a blessing (love that he has opinions) and a curse (I miss dressing him and he dislikes most of his wardrobe). He always wants a comfortable T-shirt style shirt other than when he wants a “tie shirt” (a shirt with a tie). Oh the joys of raising a little man with opinions.
I love this look because it’s casual enough for preschool but cute enough to go on an adventure after school.
I know it’s still summer, but I couldn’t help myself. I cput together a fall look for baby. I’m SO excited to get baby Ezra into knit hats and cardigans this fall and I’m planning out our fall/winter family photos. Plus it’s almost time to take Bodhi school shopping for preschool this fall and he’s grown out of most of his pants from last year.
I love this look because it’s layered, meaning it would work from September through March in most climates. I also love that a few of these items are a part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. You’ve gotta love a good sale and free shipping. And almost all of these pieces are available in baby and toddler sizes.
This is almost the outfit our little B wore to his birthday party a few weeks back. I always enjoy putting together a laid back, casual birthday boy outfit for our guy. I keep it simple and accept that he will likely strip down to a simple T-shirt and jeans in short order.
Style: Casual comfortable birthday boy dinosaur style
Seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter
Colors: Grey, Navy, Blue, Orange, Mint, Silver
Wear it: A dinosaur themed birthday party or a trip to the Science Museum.
This look was inspired by aden+anais’s Liam the Brave burpy bibs. These burpy bibs were my favorite thing when our son was born. We used them as burp cloths for months and then they were the best bibs for messy babes learning to eat.
Giveaway For the launch of Oh Boy Style, aden+anais is giving away one set of Liam the Brave burpy bibs to a lucky Oh Boy Style reader. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only. To enter, follow the rafflecopter below. This giveaway ends on Thursday, May 1, 2014.
